The CardiNor management team have extensive experience from the IVD industry, covering every aspect of a company’s life cycle, from start-up phase to exit. This includes high-level business negotiations, licensing agreements, scientific marketing, and successful trade sales.
Thomas B. Grünfeld
CEO
Thomas B. Grünfeld brings with him more than 20 years of experience from start-up MedTech companies both as founder, CEO, and as board member, most recently from Labrida AS and Observe Medical AS.
He has 30 years of international management consulting experience from McKinsey & Co. as well as business development and finance from Venture Capital like Kistefos and Sarsia Life Science Fund. Grünfeld is a medical doctor and holds a Master of public health with experience both from clinical practice and molecular genetics.
Dag Christiansen
COO
Dag Christiansen, one of the founders of CardiNor and previous CEO, has more than 30 years of experience in the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries including various management positions at DiaGenic, Axis-Shield and Dyno Particles.
He has a very broad and strong knowledge in the field of cardiovascular biomarkers from the technical, regulatory and business development side.
Christiansen holds an MSc in Biochemistry and a BSc in Economics and Business Administration.
Frank Frantzen
CTO
Frank Frantzen was previously a Sr. Director R&D at Abbott Diagnostic Technology AS. He brings with him 35+ years of experience within the IVD industry and has held leading positions at Axis-Shield, Alere and Abbott.
Frank holds a PhD in biomedical chemistry/IVD-technology and has participated in launching several world class IVD products (both assays and instrumentation), for both PoC and core lab. His area of speciality covers exploratory research, product development, patenting, and R&D management.
Frank received Abbott’s Scientific Governing Board Innovation award in 2019, for his work on HbA1c – the reference marker for diabetes diagnosis and monitoring; a work crucial to Abbott’s position as world leader in PoC HbA1c testing.
Arne Ludvig Faaren
Senior Scientist
Arne Ludvig Faaren has more than 25 years of experience in assay development and commercialisation of IVD products from Axis-Shield and Alere.
He also has a long track record of technology transfer of several important biomarker assays on to proprietary IVD platforms, including PoC instruments.
Faaren holds an MSc in biochemistry from the University of Oslo
Berit Løseth
Commercial Manager
Berit Løseth has extensive experience and know-how from more than 35 years in the diagnostics industry. This includes international product management, sales and marketing, building a distribution network, customer support, R&D projects including development of CVD biomarker tests, and quality assurance.
Berit joined CardiNor from Gentian AS where she was involved in their NT-proBNP development project. Berit held several positions at Axis-Shield and continued after the company was acquired by Alere Inc and recently by Abbott Diagnostics where she was responsible for customer service and logistics. Berit holds a BSc in Medical Lab. Technology.
